Afghan National Army Military Facilities Development, Afghanistan
Client: U.S. Army Corps of Engineers
Afghanistan Engineers District
In an effort to rebuild the infrastructure and advance the peace process in Afghanistan, the development of the first of several post-war military bases began in early 2003. In a matter of six months, living conditions improved from makeshift tents to a self-sustained facility with electric power, running water, and heated barracks and dining hall. Tetra Tech Rizzo was responsible for engineering and construction services associated with the design and construction of the bases as well as for management of civil, site, structural, mechanical, and electrical engineering for this aggressive design/build project.
