Laurence G. Hanscom Field in Bedford, Massachusetts, is New England’s premier full-service general aviation (GA) airport, which serves as a GA reliever for Boston’s Logan International Airport. The airport is an economic asset that is linked to the economic health of the region, particularly the nearby high technology businesses. The Environmental Status and Planning Report (ESPR) for Hanscom Field assesses the cumulative effects of the airport and documents existing conditions, while comparing them to historic data and evaluating future five- and fifteen-year analysis conditions. Tetra Tech Rizzo prepared both the 2000 and 2005 Draft and Final ESPR’s, which each received adequacy determination from the Massachusetts Environmental Policy Act (MEPA).
